Helping widows to build themselves creating a market activity

One of our missions at Finderrance is to Support widows by creating trading activities. Our goal is to give these widows financial independence.

LISTENING TO THEIR NEED: CREATE A MARKET ACTIVITY

In order to understand the needs, we took the time to talk to these women. We asked them what market activity could start. Most of these widows are excellent cooks and have mastered the art of making cassava into what is known as attiéké. We asked them what they needed to start marketing this product. They explained to us that it was difficult to carry out this transformation by hand and that there was a machine that could allow it to create this product in larger quantities.

DONATION OF MACHINE FOR MAKING ATTIÉKÉ

Over the next week, we raised the funds to buy the machines they wanted. They were able to start processing cassava the next day so that they could sell it at the local village market. We must continue in this direction and develop other types of trading activities which would also create a self-sufficient community.

To help a community, without proposing a solution so that it is independent, is to refuse to give it its freedom. Dependent on the funds of an association is not freedom, we want to build so that they can live and build without us. We want to lay the foundations so that they can grow on their own afterward.
